Making Use Of What You Have.

If you look closely you will see my journal is from 2020, I’ve had this journal sitting unused on my shelf and its too pretty not to be used. So rather than buying another one I will just redate the one I have. This will be my brain dump journal where I can write down my ideas for projects. There is always so much I would like to try but I can’t always get round to them straight away. I can pop it here for future reference or for when I’m having a creative block.

The paper in the kit is a perfect fit so I have attached them straight over the monthly page below as my base. I love the pink lined paper, wouldn’t it make a lovely notebook.

I’ve kept the right hand page simple for jotting down my ideas, just adding a few of the die cuts and embellishments and a little piece of the washi tape in the bottom.

For the left hand page i popped another piece of washi tape, but at the top this time. Using clear tape I added the postcard as a tip-in.

Using the cut-a-part sheet I made the tab at the top to lift the postcard, and added some of the embellishments to the bottom. The sequin strip to the bottom of the card and the edge of the opposite page adds an extra texture to my pages and I love how it shimmers and changes colour in the light.

I love to add little clusters to my page that I can use throughout the month and the little paper clips are just the cutest way to attach them.

I can’t wait to start filling my pages with ideas and hopefully I will get plenty time this month to create as many of them as possible.

Down Town Planner Spread

So here I am sitting in the villa in Orlando relaxing after a day shopping, with my planner and the Downtown kit. And the kit is just perfect to start documenting my trip. I decided to use the kit to decorate next weeks pages so it’s ready to add my photos and document the week. So I took over the dining table and emptied everything out onto the table so I could see it all.

I measured the columns and cute the papers to size and added them to the top row alternating them as I put them in place. I added the washi tape below the papers and at the bottom of both pages. Using the die cuts in the kit I started to place them across the pages along with the Mrs Brimbles sticker sheet below.

Once I was happy with the placement I stuck them all down to my pages, it was a little bare at the bottom so I cut the houses from the paper and placed it above the washi tape. I think the black makes it pop from the page.

The little yellow envelope is cute and perfect to add any little notes into.

I think my layout turned out really cute, don’t you think??

Do you use your kit in your planner as well, I’d love to see. Come share them in the fb group if you give it a go. 😊

Two Five Minute Cards

I’m in the mood for some card making today, I spend a lot of time watching tutorials/videos on YouTube and that can sometimes take over the time I have to actually craft, it can start with one video and before you know it the evening has gone and it’s time for bed. So today I decided that I was going to get my kit out and create some cards, no YouTube just enjoy my time crafting.

So I have picked out these the 3 papers, I’ll use the top two as my backgrounds and the base one I will just take two of the borders to add to my layering.

And of course I need to use the pear tree cut files stencil.

The distress oxide fossilised amber came out a perfect match to the orange tones in the paper.

I only used the two sheets of paper for both cards, I cut panels from each sheet and set them out on my cards and once I was happy with the layout I glued them in place.

I adore the cricket border and had to also fussy cut one of the little guys out to use as an embellishment.

These I used on my first card along the centre and for the second card I used the tree border and glued them in place as my second layer.

It was missing something, so I took the grid paper and used that to layer my two center pieces before glueing them to my cards.

This card reminded me of patchwork so I added the faux stitching around each panel using my colic marker to finish it off.

I may go ahead and do the same on this one as well as I like how the end result looked. What do you think, with or without the faux stitching??

Thankyou for taking the time to read this and I’d love to see your makes. I’m now of to make some more cards xx

Time to relax

What better way to relax than an afternoon memory keeping. I have my notebook, papers and embellishment picked out and ready to go.

I started off with matching inks and a blending brush to add some colour to the pages, then I layered my papers on the left page and added stickers to the bottom.

For the right page I matte and layered my papers and added my embellishments to the corner before putting my photo in place. Using an envelope to cover the photo I then added my ink splatters. I kinda get a little carried away with the splatters but they wouldn’t be my pages if I didn’t.

To complete my layout I popped a couple of diecuts at the top left hand corner with one of my clips from my stash

I filmed a quick process video, if you would like to see me creating my pages you can watch it over on my YouTube channel by following the link b

Hopes and Dreams 6 by 8 Layout

Omg I absolutely love the artwork on these papers and I just had to use them as a 6 by 8 layout to pop in my album.

I tore the paper down the centre diagonally and layered won’t the other piece.

Gathering all the die cuts and embellishments I laid them all out to choose which ones I wanted to use with my photograph.

I used the striped paper to matte and layer my photograph and set everything in place, once happy with my layout and then glued everything in place.

I added some dimension by popping the top layer of die cuts down using some 3d foam pads.

I love the cluster of die cuts in the corner and the extra dimension created.

Do you like to scrapbook in different sizes, it’s been a nice change to use 6 by 8.

Here’s the story in my travelers notebook by Korrieann

This months kit is Heres The Story, perfect for documenting what matters to us. It doesn’t matter how big or small the story, they can all be documented.

I decided to start with my travelers note book, I love love love the papers this month and wanted to cover the whole page with it, I knew as soon as I seen them that would be my the base layer to my layout.

The papers above are the two I have chosen for my pages, now I just need the photos. I use my kodak instant dock to print my photos, my canon selphie recently stopped worked and I replaced it with the kodak (mainly because it was yellow and matched my cricut).

I have incorporated the envelope to use as a pocket for my journaling, I attached one of my photos under the flap and then attached the Heres the story card to lift and reveal the photo below.

Using the cut apart sheet I created a cluster at the bottom of my page and used the word stickers here and on my photos.

I was originally having the second photo in the envelope with my joirnaling but felt it would look better on the left side, so I lined up the matte layer with the paper on my page. It hangs over the edge of the page slightly but I kinda like it.

I filmed a quick process video and popped it up on my YouTube channel if you want to see me putting it all together. https://youtu.be/hbUQ2FK4Rhk

All I need to do now is write my story and pop it in the envelope, I hope you all join in and share with us how you have been using your kit over on the Facebook group xx

Feels Like Autumn

With the change in weather it’s definitely starting to feel like autumn, it’s time to look out the cosy blankets and curling up in front of the tv. That also means it’s time to start changing out my planner, I received my Autumn Experience box this week in the mail. The card in the kit is absolutely beautiful, and I say card instead of paper as these are heavy card stock, perfect for making dashboards etc for your planner or even covering your notebooks, the photo doesn’t do them justice.

The papers are double sided and contains two of each design. Perfect for creating my pocket folder for my a5 rings.

To create my folder I folded the piece of card in half and then scores it again at 1/2 before the centre, allowing the card to fold open. Using my wrmk big bite I punched the holes, which I had marked with a white paint pen using a page from my planner ensuring they were in the correct position.

I picked out one of the tab stickers and placed it at the top of my folder.

Using another piece of card in a contrasting design I have created the pockets at the bottom of my pages, with the card being double sided I was able to have two different designs without having to use more card.

I love the journaling stickers, I used the longer stickers to run down the edges of folder giving the effect that the card has been ripped.

I ad to use the bigger collage sticker on the front and layered with the word stickers Currently Creating. I maybe should have layered it with black to help it stand out a bit more but I still love it.

I felt the lighter side also needed a contrast at the edge of the pocket so I used a scrap piece of the card I had on my desk and glued it to the edge, I feel it helped define the pocket.

How pretty does it look with the rose gold rings peeking through the open folder. Now I can pop extra notes into my planner and I can’t wait to make my next folder or dashboard with the other designs in the kit.

Tags Tags Tags

I was in a colourful mood today and wanted to create something with happy colours. Using the colours that match the kit so I could create some matching tags.

Tags are one of my favourite items in the kits, whether blank or stamped onto. There are so many ways to use them.

Using my brayer I added the paint to my tag, you can watch me create it here https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMFFd5aqt/

I absolutely love it, definitely a happy tag full of colour and cheer. What it needs now is a tag holder so I grabbed my papers and my trimmer and created 5 envelopes for the tags to fit inside.

I attached each of the envelopes together with some adhesive and created an accordion style tag book.

For the front I wanted to keep it simple so I could keep most of the design from the paper, using the watercolour hearts and smile today from the papers as embellishments.

The pink heart I set off the edge and cut the excess off, I couldn’t waste it though so I popped it just behind the blue heart in the bottom corner to add an extra layer. I just love how the colours pop from the papers.

I added different colour twines to each of the tags

The end result is adorable and I think I will add some more to the back given me even more room for tags. Add some photos, journaling or even just some art the options are endless.

Do you enjoy using tags in your journaling, mini albums ?? I’d love to see them xxx

Adding Tip-ins To My Planner

It feels like it’s been a while since I journaled in my planner and I feel like I need to try and get back into the habit of jotting down my day again.

When I received my monthly subscription I knew I had to add the card to my planner. I wanted to have the option to add extra onto my pages, giving me more room to journal. So I decided to add the card as a tip-in using the washi strip from the edge of my sticker sheet. I went with the blue washi strip as it matched the design on the back side of the card.

I adhered half to the card and the other half to my page securing it in place like a hinge allowing me to open and close the card.

I love the dark blues with the white in the sticker sheets and the washi strips along the edges are a great bonus sticker too. The striped washi strip was a bit wider than I wanted so I sliced it in half which also allowed me to have it along the bottom of both pages.

I added my stickers to my pages choosing the washi header, days of the week and the hexagon stickers. I had an extra piece of washi left so I have layered it with the weekend sticker and I love how it just shows above my tip-in.

Using the deco sheet I added some decoration to my pages and brought in the dark blue again by layering at the top left with the header.

I wanted to add an envelope to add some extra notes or photos to my planner page but didn’t want it to stand out too much. I had a piece of vellum which I thought would be perfect to create the envelope using the sizzix die.

The hole reinforcer stickers were a perfect fit over the circle on the envelope and once it has dried I can a little piece of string or twine to close it. I attached my envelope to my tip-in and added the sticker to the front which I have backed with a leftover piece of vellum.

My pages have turned out so pretty with plenty space for me to write and add my extras too. I can’t wait to see how they look at the end of my week, and my journaling is complete.

Bubble Fun experimenting with watercolour by Korrieann

We spent the afternoon in the garden yesterday having a crafty day. I had an idea to add my concentrated watercolours to some bubbles to create a colourful background.

I chose my photos for my layout, I thought the yellow paper would be perfect for layering my photos.

I place everything on my layout where I would like it to be before glueing them in place. The tag peaking out from behind my first photo matte. I still had some of the die cuts from a previous kit and the colours worked brilliant with the bubble background.

I had originally added arrows to the bottom corner but changed my mind so I added the little cluster with the matching yellow paper.

I like to layer my elements so I have used the arrow and layered it on the tag, the blue is the die cut tag that I have just cut in half then popped it under the photo.

The die cuts full the page together and just add that finishing touch.
